Falcon Saved

An attempted pirate attack was disrupted last week by U.S. Navy forces supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Two helicopters were sent to investigate a distress call from the “Falcon Trader II” reporting suspected pirates were trying to board their vessel. The crew has locked themselves in a citadel until Navy forces were able to board and gave the crew the all clear.

The attack on the “Falcon Trader II” had the distinction of being the first-ever piracy attempt reported in Pakistan waters.

The piracy attempt was in the Southern extremity of the Pakistan Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
