Surge Expected

With the increased use of motherships Somali pirates are no longer as weather reliant as they once were.

However the commander of NATO’s counter-piracy task force has warned more pirates are expected to attack merchant vessels as the weather improves off the Somali coast as the Summer approaches.

The new enhanced capacity of the pirates means the gathered naval forces may have to be ready for a surge.
