Under Threat
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society vessel, “Steve Irwin”, was reportedly tailed by Somali pirates on Tuesday in the Gulf of Aden.
The group, famous for its aggressive campaigns against Japanese whaling efforts in the Antarctic, said their 160-foot vessel had been painted in camouflage and with the number “77” on its bow to resemble a war ship.
This was meant to deter a possible pirate attack in the troubled region.
