Weather Window

The weather conditions in the Arabian Sea and northern Somali Basin remain  poor with wave height forecast to exceed 5 meters in the Arabian Sea towards the weekend.

The central Somali Basin is less unsettled, although would still prove challenging for small boat operations (attack skiffs).

Even the pirated fishing vessel SHIUH FU 1 has now relocated in Hobyo anchorage after unsuccessful mothership operations.

This will inevitably have an affect on pirate action groups, and we can perhaps expect less activity. However vigilance is still important onboard vessels transitting the High Risk Area.
