Spanish armed forces have rescued a Frenchwoman who was being held captive by Somali pirates who allegedly murdered her husband last week.
Spanish Defense Minister, Carme Chacon reported that the Spanish amphibious assault vessel “Galicia” carried out the operation on Saturday and in addition to freeing the hostage, seven pirates were also captured.
The woman was taken hostage just days earlier from her yacht.
