The OPEC secretary-general has claimed that piracy “cuts to the heart of Opec’s efforts to ensure stable oil supplies”.
With tankers being targeted and a Drillship having just come under attack, Abdalla Salem El-Badri speaking to Lloyd’s List believes that piracy might spread further unless a predominantly onshore solution is found.
He has called for efforts to ensure that pirates no longer see piracy as “profitable”.
