Bergen Risk Introduces NorSeaCure
In early summer sunshine, Bergen Risk Solutions marked the opening of impressive new offices close by Bergen airport with a seminar at the Clarion Hotel followed by a party at the new headquarters.
The well-attended seminar was an ideal opportunity to update the Norwegian shipping community on recent developments on the maritime security scene and attendees welcomed Steven Askins from Ince and Co, Stein Are Hansen from the Nor Hull Club, and Commander Kristian Evjen RNoN, from the Maritime Headquarters at Northwood.
Arild Nodland – Bergen Risk CEO – spoke of the changing threats to the shipping and offshore industries off West Africa and attendees were introduced to two companies – Navigare Security and IMSA Ltd – with whom Bergen Risk has formed NORSEACURE.
NORSEACURE provides a transit guarding and intelligence service to ships and operations in High Risk Areas, with a mix of Norwegian and UK PCASPs.
The resulting consortium has several successful transits in the Western Indian Ocean for Norwegian clients under its belt, and aims to combine the very best of Norwegian and UK expertise in its unique delivery.
The social gathering afterwards was much enjoyed by seminar attendees, and proved a most useful occasion for developing ideas and exchanging views.
