Pirates Trail Cruise Liner near Gulf of Aden
Azamara Journey was enforced to take “evasive” operation on 23d of November, 2012 when the vessel’s crew noticed some little boats swiftly approaching the cruise liner while sailing off the coast of Oman.
According to Cynthia Martinez, who is director of Global Corporate Communications for the Azamara’s parent company Royal Caribbean Cruise Company, “In an galore of prudence, the Captain of the cruise liner took precautionary measures, including asking that passengers move to the internal areas of the vessel, as well as evasive movements.”
Within fifteen minutes, the small vessels ceased approaching, and Azamara Journey continued its normal sailings and itinerary, Martinez informed.
