In a move aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between Tanzania and Turkey, a Turkish Naval Force flagship vessel is expected to dock at the port of Dar es Salaam between today and Saturday.

Turkish Ambassador to Tanzania, Ali Davutoglu, said the vessel, dubbed Barbaros Turkish Maritime Task Group (TMTG) will enhance the country’s fight against piracy.

“One of the aims of the visit to Tanzania and other African countries by the vessel is to enhance efforts in combating piracy and enhancing bilateral relationship with Tanzania,” said Davutoglu.
