Use satellite to monitor Sabah’s waters: MP

Kuala Lumpur: The Government has been urged to consider using satellite to monitor maritime activities in Sabah.

Silam Member of Parliament Datuk Datu Nasrun Datu Mansur said the satellite could complement the functions of the sea basing system that has been proposed to be implemented in waters off Sabah, through channelling integrated radar and optical information to it.

“The satellite will not only be useful in safeguarding security and monitoring the movements of vessels and fishery activities but also for search and rescue operations.
