Details of Thai tanker hijack emerge

The Thai diesel tanker MT Orapin 4 was boarded and hijacked by about 10 pirates while it was travelling through the Strait of Malacca in Indonesian waters late last Tuesday night, a source said on Monday.

The tanker returned to its home port about 7.30pm on Sunday – minus its cargo – and is now anchored around 2km off Udom Bay in Chon Buri’s Sri Racha district.
