Captivity of Indians ‘a searing impact of Arab instability’
New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday expressed concern over the continued captivity of 39 Indian workers in Iraq’s Mosul city and Indian sea-farers by pirates in Somalia and said their plight reflects the “searing impact” of regional instability in parts of Arab world on ordinary Indians.
“The continued captivity of the innocent Indian workers in Mosul and the holding of seven Indian sea-farers in custody by pirates in Somalia have brought home to ordinary Indians the searing impact of regional instability in parts of the Arab world,” she said speaking at an event.
