Abu Dhabi hosts Offshore Patrol and Maritime Surveillance summits

Abu Dhabi – Over 100 maritime security experts from the UAE and other countries gathered at the Intercontinental Hotel Abu Dhabi this week for their third Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) and Coastal and Maritime Surveillance Middle East Summits which focused on maritime security, surveillance, air and sea patrolling and anti-piracy counter measures.

Experts from GCC countries, Italy, Spain, the US and NATO representative were among the major participants in the Dec 8-10 meeting which also included an exhibition of the latest naval technology to fight terrorism and piracy.

Several lectures were delivered on the first and second day of the summit covering ways to protect the interests of the allies in the Gulf and nearby areas.
