The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has recently inducted two indigenous harbour patrol boats – CGS Boleshwar (pennant HPB 4903) and CGS Tentulia (HPB 4904) – into its fleet on 15 March.

The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has recently inducted two indigenous harbour patrol boats – CGS Boleshwar (pennant HPB 4903) and CGS Tentulia (HPB 4904) – into its fleet on 15 March.
Constructed at the Bangladesh Navy-owned Dockyard and Engineering Works Limited in Narayanganj (DEWN), these 25-tonne vessels – with a length of 17.47 m, a beam of 5.51 m, and a draft of 1.4 m – are built from marine-grade aluminium alloy to Bureau Veritas classification rules.
Powered by two 800 bhp Volvo Penta D13-800 engines, driving two fixed pitch propellers through a ZF 311A gearbox, top speed is 25 kt while range is 350 n miles at a cruising speed of 20 kt.
