A high ranking Iranian military commander says although Iran is located “at the focal point of world’s energy ellipse,” it has never used this advantage for its own political gains.
Commander of Iran’s Navy Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari was quoted by Iranian media as saying on Wednesday that being located at the focal point of the world’s energy ellipse is a great opportunity for Iran to energize its “sea-based” progress and development.
“Countries like China, India, Japan and European [states] supply their needed fuel” through marine routes, the Iranian commander said, adding, “Therefore, every measure must be taken to make the most of the advantage of being located at the focal point of the world’s energy supply route.”
