U.S. supports Sri Lanka’s efforts to contribute to maritime security

The United States Tuesday said it supports Sri Lanka’s efforts to contribute to maritime security in the Indian Ocean as a nation in the Indo-Pacific region.

Jeff Rathke, Acting Deputy Spokesperson of the U.S. State Department said the United States supports efforts of the Indo-Pacific region countries to provide maritime security which include counter-piracy and counter-trafficking operations as well as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
