Navy carries out drills to prepare for hijackings
KUALA LUMPUR: Nearly two months since the hijacking of Orkim Harmony, the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) carried out a rescue exercise to ready themselves for any future acts of piracy on the high seas.
The operation, code named Eksesais Naga Emas saw the Navy’s special warfare forces (PASKAL) testing their mettle in combating a mock tanker hijacking.
This scenario mirrors the taking of the Orkim Harmony off the coast of Pulau Aur in Johor in June.
