Navy prevents insecurity in Caspian Sea
Navy commander has said Iran’s navy can prevent insecurity in the Caspian Sea and would not allow presence of anyone other than neighboring countries in the sea.
Pointing to the deployment of an Iranian fleet to Russia and its docking at the Caspian Sea port of Astrakhan on October 22 with the mission ‘to promote peace and friendship,’ Habibollah Sayyari said, “being the largest lake on earth, the Caspian Sea holds a special place in the world.”
Sayyari referred to the interests and multiple resources of neighboring countries in the Caspian Sea and added: “the Islamic Republic of Iran owns interests in the Caspian Sea and must maintain its authority in there.”
