Bangladesh-India navy joint patrol in Bay from June 27

The naval forces of Bangladesh and India will, for the first time, conduct a joint patrol exercise, namely the Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT), in the Bay of Bengal from June 27. The aim is to ensure the security of the maritime boundaries of the neighbouring countries.

Chief of the naval staff (CNS) of India, Admiral Sunil Lanba, currently in Dhaka, will inaugurate the three-day (June 27–29) exercise in the Bay. Four maritime patrol aircraft, two from the Bangladesh Navy and two from the Indian navy, and four frigates, two from the Bangladesh Navy (BNS Abu Bakar and BNS Dhaleswari) and two from the Indian navy (INS Satpura and INS Kadmatt), will join the CORPAT.
