Attempted Theft of Sailing Vessel’s Dinghy in Sorong, Indonesia

UPDATE July 02: The sailing vessel which was attacked has been identified as the EL TORO.

May 22: At approx. 14:00 UTC a fishing vessel approached an anchored sailing vessel approx. 0.18nm SE of Pulau Doom, Sorong, Indonesia. The sailing vessel’s skipper noticed the vessel approaching and a person on board attempting to steal the sailing vessel’s dinghy. Seeing this, the skipper directed his headlamp towards the person and shouted at them. In response, the person attempting to steal the vessel let go of the dinghy and moved away. Local authorities were notified.
