Record Setting $10m USD Worth of Cocaine Seized at Baltimore Port
June 25: Authorities at the Port of Baltimore disrupted a record-setting shipment of 333 pounds of cocaine from Panama to Maryland in a container of beach chairs earlier this month.
The shipping container — packed with 125 bricks, valued at $10 million — was first sent from Panama to China, according to authorities. From there, the shipment of “beach chairs” was scheduled to be sent to an address in Maryland.
Previously, the largest narcotics bust at Baltimore Port was when 311 pounds of cocaine were seized in April 2007.
No arrests had been made as of Tuesday.
