Boarding and Attempted Theft Aboard Bulk Carrier in Singapore Straits

November 28, 15:20 UTC: Chief Engineer onboard a bulk carrier underway in the Singapore Straits (approx. position 01:16.2N, 104:13.4E) noticed four unauthorized persons armed with knives in the engine room and informed Master. Alarm raised, deck lights switched on and crew mustered. Seeing the alerted crew the unauthorized persons escaped. A search was carried out. Foot prints were noticed on the quarter deck. Nothing reported stolen.
