Bangladesh Coastguard Arrest Two Suspects With 30,000 Ya Ba Tablets
February 02: The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) arrested two Rohingya suspects along with 30,000 contraband ya ba [a mixture of methamphetamine and caffeine] tablets from Fishery Ghat of Maddhom Nuniya Chhara in Cox’s Bazar district on Sunday night.
Acting on a tip off, a team from BCG station Cox’s Bazar conducted a search of a wooden boat at Maddhom Nuniya Chhara Fishery Ghat at approx. 8:20pm, said Lt Shah Zia Rahman, media officer of BCG East Zone.
During the search, the BCG members recovered 30,000 yaba pills and arrested the two suspects who are Myanmar nationals, he said.
The two suspects, ya ba tablets, and the wooden boat were all handed over to the Cox’s Bazar police station.
