Ocean Business 2011
April 5, 2011 - April 7, 2011
Ocean Business started with a simple formula to deliver an event that successfully combined business with pleasure and after the second outing at the National Oceanography Centre in 2009 the event is now firmly established as one of the most important international events in the ocean technology calendar.
Buzzing Exhibition doubled in size
The 2009 event attracted 2772 attendees representing 53 countries. In just one show cycle the exhibition nearly doubled in size and attracted 274 of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers all housed in a purpose built exhibition centre directly on the dockside of one of the world’s leading oceanographic research institutions.
In-situ training and demonstration workshops
Proving that the show offers more value than just a static exhibition, over the course of three days, exhibiting companies hosted 180 individual training and demonstration sessions which enable buyers to actively compare equipment prior to purchasing. More than 1800 visitors attended these demos utilising the vessels, dockside area, test-tank and classroom facilities.
Offshore Survey Conference attracts delegates from far and wide
Running in parallel to the exhibition is a two day conference that focuses on the technology and business issues in the field of offshore surveying. Offshore Survey 2009 attracted over 80 registered delegates that travelled as far afield as: Europe, Middle East, North and South America and South East Asia to listen to a wide range of papers from a panel of 20 distinguished Speakers.
Networking Opportunities Every Night
But Ocean Business is not all about business! The social element of Ocean Business is meticulously planned to create a relaxed atmosphere that enables attendees to renew connections with old friends and colleagues and to continue business discussions in to the evening. In 2009 visitors and exhibitors alike were able to enjoy the extremely busy ice breaker event at a local bar, the gala dinner caused a major stir with some lively entertainment and the ever popular wine trail lead delegates around the exhibit halls sampling all the joys of the grape as they went!
Career Opportunities for Students
Ocean Business dealt head on with the recruitment crisis facing the ocean technology industry by creating a specialised Ocean Careers event that offered endless recruitment and career opportunities and advice. Over 500 students from all over the country travelled near and far to meet with industry experts and attend structured sessions that helped to guide them in the right career direction.
What can you expect from Ocean Business?
For Intelligent Exhibitions there is only one objective and that is to attract as many quality visitors as possible ………… and by delivering an ‘event’ rather than just an ‘exhibition’ you can be confident that Ocean Business will continue to achieve just that.
